Dockyard Church To Take Part In Heritage Open Days 2023

The Trust is delighted to once again be participating in Heritage Open Days.

Families welcome, building fully accessible ~ Informal tours will run throughout the day, no need to book.

Visitors can join us to see the newly restored building and find out more about the ambitious 10 year, £9.5 million restoration project. You can also see sections of the great Dockyard Model on display as well as artefacts found during the project & take part in family activities.

You can also find out more about the fantastic opportunities at the IslandWorks co-working space and visit the new café.

The Church has been transformed from a ruin to an architectural wonder involving the repair and conservation of every inch of the exterior to its original Georgian design as well as dismantling and rebuilding the clocktower and installing an impressive new roof.

The Dockyard Model is one of the finest and largest architectural models ever made. Built by craftsmen and apprentices working at Sheerness Dockyard it shows the buildings in great detail. The Admiral’s House, the Quadrangular store and the Dockyard Church and Naval Terrace models are now on display.
